Silver was originally cared for by a rescue organization in Jamaica that was sadly destroyed during the most recent hurricane. After losing her safe space, Silver made the long journey to Canada, where she is now patiently waiting for a loving forever home where she can finally settle and feel secure.

Silver is a gentle, quiet soul who is just beginning to come out of her shell and show her foster family the sweet dog she truly is. She has a very calm, low-key personality and is happiest spending her days resting in a cozy corner, enjoying enrichment like food puzzles, snuffle mats, and treats from her Kong. Silver would love an ideal routine that includes a short daily walk once she’s comfortable, some simple mind games, and plenty of uninterrupted time to relax in a peaceful home.

Silver is shy and timid by nature and does would not do well in noisy or chaotic environments. She is still getting used to stairs, and will need some help to learn to be comfortable with them. Inside the home, Silver is well behaved. She is house-trained, rarely barks, and is respectful of furniture and boundaries. She has done well with older children, remaining calm even when they are active around her, and she enjoys gentle affection from people she trusts. While she is still cautious around men and can be sensitive to loud voices, she is making steady progress.

Silver is still working on her leash skills, and feels stressed with leash tension. Her family will need to be patient and ready to continue helping her work through this. She does well in the car, settles nicely in her crate (especially at night), and seeks out safe spaces when overwhelmed.

Above all, Silver is a kind, loving dog who simply wants to feel safe and loved. With patience, consistency, and a calm environment, Silver will continue to blossom into a devoted and loving companion.
