ABOUT :
Quicksilver was rescued from a situation of serious neglect. She, along with over 100 other animals, were rescued from a house of horrors where these animals were all living in horrible conditions and without medical attention they needed. This is extra shocking, because they were living in a home with a veterinarian! Quicksilver required extensive dental work, and had multiple masses removed after her intake. She then made her way to Canada, where she found herself with RAD!
Quicksilver is a very sweet and calm senior girl. She can be a little shy at first, and needs some help to feel safe in new environments. She likes to go for walks, but at a slow pace and not for too long. She would rather stop and smell the flowers than go out on an adventure. In the home, she likes to spend her time napping and relaxing. Soft dog beds, the couch, your bed or even your lap - any of these places will do! Quicksilver loves other dogs, and even cats. She will show off her little personality and try to play with the other animals, but given her age and energy she needs a companion who won’t be rough in their play style. Quicksilver is house broken, and can do her business outside or inside on a pee pad. She tolerates being home alone well, and will happily sleep and await your return.
Medically, Quicksilver is fairly easy but does have some conditions. She has had dental work done and is missing many teeth now, but she still eats her food well - just a little slower! Surprisingly, she still prefers kibble over canned food even with her missing teeth. She has some arthritis and is currently receiving joint supplements - it would be best if she could continue these for the rest of her life. She has cataracts, but can still see. She is completely deaf. Her deafness does not affect her quality of life, however she can startle with sudden movements as she gets surprised - for this reason we would like to place her in a calm home without young children.
