ABOUT :
Meet Nina! Nina came to RAD from Los Angeles, after being saved from euthanasia in an overcrowded local shelter. When Nina first arrived in foster care, Nina was shy and unsure of her surroundings, but with a little patience and time to decompress, she blossomed into a playful, curious, and loving companion.
Nina enjoys spending time outdoors and would happily join her family for a few short walks each day. She loves exploring the yard, watching the world go by, and keeping an eye on the local squirrels. Although she is always eager to head outside, she is a medium energy dog. She tires out fairly quickly and is just as content curling up for a long nap afterward.
Nina is still very much a puppy at heart. She is curious, receptive to training, and enjoys learning. She can still pull on leash (she is surprisingly strong for a little thing!) and is currently working on her walking manners, especially at the beginning of walks when excitement gets the better of her. With consistency and guidance, she is making progress.
Nina has met a variety of people during her time in foster care. She is generally friendly and willing to approach new people outdoors, often greeting them happily on walks. Inside the home, she prefers a slower introduction and appreciates having the opportunity to observe and settle in before making new friends. Once she feels comfortable, her affectionate nature quickly emerges.
She has also had positive experiences with calm, respectful dogs and may enjoy a canine companion who can match her energy while also helping her feel secure. At this time, Nina has not been tested with cats. Because she shows a strong interest in squirrels and other small wildlife, a cat-free home or careful introductions would be recommended.
Nina would thrive in a patient and loving home that understands she may need a little time to build confidence. She would do best with older, respectful children and would especially appreciate a family that enjoys spending time outdoors and helping her continue her training journey. A home without stairs, or with minimal stairs, would be ideal, as she is currently uncomfortable navigating them.
WORDS FROM HER FOSTER:
Nina is a sweet cuddly silly girl looking for love ! Always up for a walk & sniffing the flowers. Rain walks might be her favorite, Nina loves a good puddle. She’s a shy one at first but if you give her the time she needs you’ll fall in love.
