Mackenzie has had a pretty rough road leading up to joining the RAD fam. He was once facing euthanasia and seemed to have gotten his lucky break when he was adopted. Unfortunately, things didn’t work out that way, and he ended up in a bad situation. Only recently did Mackenzie finally make his way back to safety, and now he’s looking for a forever home where he can finally settle in for good.

Despite everything he’s been through, Mackenzie is an incredibly loving, friendly and outgoing dog. He’s very comfortable meeting people and seems genuinely happy just to have someone around. Affection is definitely high on his list of favourite things. He’ll cuddle right up against you, lean his whole body into you, sit directly on your feet and stay as close as possible if it means getting a few more pets.

He has a sweet, social personality and has been very easy to get to know. He enjoys attention, seeks out affection and has quickly made friends with the people caring for him. After so much instability, it’s been really nice to see how open and trusting he still is with people.

Mackenzie hasn’t lived in a home environment for a while, so his future family should expect that he may need some time to adjust to a household routine again. There may be things he needs to relearn along the way, but so far he has been wonderful in his kennel and has adjusted very well to being with us.

For now, Mackenzie seems pretty happy to be somewhere safe, surrounded by people who care about him. We’d really like the next place he goes to be the one he gets to call home for good.
