ABOUT :

Meet Kodi! This handsome boy was surrendered to an overcrowded shelter in LA and was facing euthanasia due to lack of space and adoption interest. Shelter staff adored him so much that some even came in on their days off just to spend time with him. At first, Kodi was terrified and shut down, barely moving from his corner. But with patience and kindness, he began to open up, and everyone quickly fell in love with him. We were thrilled to bring him to Canada where he’s been able to decompress, heal, and show his true personality.

Kodi is a big goofy boy with an even bigger heart. Once he trusts you, you’ll get to see his silly side—he’ll dance around to greet you, flop over for belly rubs, and make you laugh with his goofy personality. He’s the perfect mix of fun and chill. Some days he’s zooming around the yard or roughhousing with his dog friends, and other days he’s happy with a walk and then a long nap on the couch. He’s also a talker in his own way—he’ll whine or grumble to tell you what’s on his mind, but he’s not a barker.

Kodi loves getting outside for walks and playtime, but indoors he’s calm and relaxed. He’s crate trained, sleeps great through the night, and settles down after activity. He’s still working on being left alone during the day, but has already made amazing progress. He rides nicely in the car, and handled his nail trim at the groomer like a champ.

With people, Kodi needs a little time and space at first, but once he feels safe, he’s incredibly affectionate. He’s learned to love his foster family’s kids, but toddlers still make him nervous, so a home without them is best. With dogs, he really shines—his foster brother has become his partner in crime, they’re always zooming laps in the yard, wrestling, or cuddled up together. Kodi NEEDS a home with another confident, playful dog to show him the ropes. He would not do well in a home without one, and we will not put him in that situation.

He’s looking for a family who gets that trust takes time and who will let him bloom at his own pace. He’d do best with adults or older kids, someone who works from home or isn’t gone all day, and either a fenced yard or a lifestyle that includes lots of walks. Most of all, he’d love to have a dog buddy to play and nap with.
