ABOUT :

Meet Joe! Joe was surrendered to an overpopulated shelter in LA. He was facing euthanasia due the excessive amount of surrenders, and due to the fact that in the shelter, he was scared. Thankfully, he is now making his way to Canada to find his forever home!

At the shelter in LA, Joe was a staff favourite. He would hide in his kennel, but when he was taken out into the yards he would just melt into the arms of the volunteer or employee who was there to play with him. He is a sweetheart, and his foster in LA descibes him as a marshmallow boy - a big suck who wants to cuddle and get love. Joe is good to walk on leash, but if a big truck or car passes by he goes into pancake mode, flattening himself on the ground. He will need some time to fully decompress and adjust to the world around him. With other dogs, Joe is extremely tolerant. In the home, Joe is making steady progress and is slowly exploring more and more of his surroundings. He loves his crate and it makes him feel safe - he often chooses to relax in there when the crate door is left open.

Joe’s ideal home would be one in a calm environment, with not too much action in the home. He will need a secure yard, and a loving family ready to work with him to build his confidence and help him feel secure.

We are looking for a foster for Joe, but out fosters always have first priority on adopting the dogs they are caring for. If you’re interested in fostering, or fostering with the intention to adopt, please apply below!
