ABOUT :
Meet Jerry! Jerry and his brother Ben were surrendered to an overpopulated shelter in Los Angeles. Both Ben & Jerry were about to be euthanized due to the excessive amounts of surrendered dogs, and because they were fearful.
Jerry use to be a shy timid dog but he has flourished so quickly and continues to do so daily! He is a family dog, meaning he needs to be part your daily activities. He loves kids and dogs. His favourite past times are chasing leaves, chasing the wind, and playing with dogs he knows in the backyard. (Not the at dog parks too overwhelming)
He loves to sleep as well, many naps a day on his dog bed. He enjoys his daily walks but gets over them pretty quickly, he gets two 30 minutes walks a day sometimes he cuts them short because he’s over it, on trails in forests he probably wouldn’t cut them short. He’s great on leash. He is crate trained and likes to sleep in his crate at night. He is also house trained but could have a few accidents if not taken out enough or during the first few days when adjusting. He is the sweetest boy and will make you laugh daily.
Jerry is afraid of indoor stairs but has gotten over his fear of them outdoors. This is something to be mindful of as he will need help to overcome his fear of the big scary stairs. If you have a cat(s) he will try to play with them, shy scared cats that aren’t use to dogs would not be a great fit. He would NOT do well living in the city, an apartment, a condo even townhouse with a small yard. He needs a house with a good size yard. He’s a huge outdoor enthusiast - if given the choice, he will spend all day and all night, chilling out in his yard. Jerry doesn’t have separation anxiety but he cannot be left 8+ hrs alone daily. He’s still a pup and learning. He loves to be in the presence of humans, dogs and kids.
Jerry was very shy and shut down. With the right environment he’s been flourishing so quickly and thriving, we would hate for him to regress. His current fosters have two young boys, a young dog (adopted from us) and two adults who integrate Jerry in their daily activities. They are amazed on how sweet and gentle this boy is. He’s a fast learner!
He’s like a bigger version of Crypto from Superman!
