BOXER & GOOSE

WORDS FROM BOXER & GOOSE’S NEW ADOPTERS: We’ve wanted to adopt a rescue from RAD as soon as we heard about this organization through social media. Their mission & everything they stand for is very close to our hearts. After healing from the loss of our Pitbull, we knew it was the right time to reach out to RAD & help save a dogs life. Having gone through a lot with our previous dog, we had our heart set on getting a puppy & an <<easy>> breed. While looking at the Manitoba crew, we immediately fell in love with Goose’s profile. “A goofy, easy Lab, we thought, he’s perfect!”

A few weeks later, we spoke to Kim to set up a meet & greet with Goose. Discussing our previous dog experience, she immediately said ‘’What about Boxer?’’. She felt it in her gut that we would be a good fit for Boxer, who was 10 months & never socialized. We weren’t sure we were ready to go back down a difficult road so we hadn’t initially considered him. Little did we know, Kim was absolutely right. Wanting to give Boxer a chance, we set up meet and greets with him and Goose the same day! And of course, we fell in love… with both of them.

With Goose, we felt an immediate connection. He was playfull, sweet and goofy, exactly what we wanted. Our hearts were set on adopting him from day 1. Then, meeting Boxer, our hearts melted. What a gorgeous boy. He was so afraid and unsure. We could tell he was just a curious puppy who needed a bit of guidance. We were in trouble, how do we choose?

Turns out, Boxer needed a new foster home so we agreed to take him in soon after that. His first night with us, he was already cuddling, playing and running around. He was so happy. Everyday we fell more and more in love and eventually decided that was it, were not giving him back. But what about Goose? We still wanted him! It was always our goal to have a house filled with dogs so why not jump in now? We decided to give it a shot. If Goose and Boxer get along, it’s meant to be. We set up a meeting with both of them and thankfully they got along right away. The drive back home with both of them in the car was the sweetest thing.

With a little patience and constant work, Boxer has already come such a long way! He’s made some friends, explored different places & everyday is slowly getting better. It helps him to have Goose around to show him the world isn’t so scary. Goose is very social and friendly while Boxer is more unsure but curious so they compliment each other perfectly. They love playing together and they definitely keeps us on our toes! We’re so happy they found us, and that they now have each other.

So here we are, with our little bromance match made in heaven, Goosey and Boxy Baby.

Thanks RAD team, for trusting us and giving us not one but two amazing fur babies!
