Dustin was rescued from an over-run county shelter in Los Angeles, where he was facing euthanasia at only 11 months of age due to over population. Despite these hardships, Dustin remained a happy and loving dog even in the tough shelter environment - he was a staff favourite, and made everyone laugh with his smile! He quite literally smiles when he asks for attention!

Dustin is an overall calm dog, but he does love his mental enrichment. With his foster, some of his favourite activities include playing with his kong, searching for kibble in his snuffle mat, and of course cuddling and receiving belly rubs - his favourite! He loves his walks throughout the day and does great on them, however he will pull if he sees a squirrel. He loves other dogs, and will gently play with them. In the home, he happily sleeps next to his foster brother.

Sudden noises and people who are too excited make Dustin nervous. He can cower a little when meeting new people if their energy is too high. If they are calm and approach him gently, he is more than happy to meet them and will ask for some love from them too. New things can also be scary for him, he will need some gentle encouragement to conquer his fears but once he does he takes things on like a champ!

Dustin is comfortable in his crate, and can stay calmly in there while his fosters are out and about. His ideal home would be one with a family on the quieter side, who are ready to give him all the love. He would do great with a family who are more present at home, and would love another calm canine companion.

WORDS FROM HIS FOSTER:

Dustin is such a sweet soul. He is super affectionate and smart. He might be a little timid for the first few minutes, but then you will get to see a goofy and gentle boy! His favorite thing in the world is probably belly rubs, the more cuddles the better. Everybody that meets him falls in love me included!
