ABOUT :

Meet Bryn! Bryn is a wonderful dog who joined the RAD family back in 2021, when she, and a bunch of her friends, were brought over to Canada to find their forever homes. Bryn started her life on the streets in Lebanon. She had been hit by a car, and was rescued by our partner BETA. By a stroke of luck, Bryn was not severely injured in her accident, and made a speedy recovery. She was adopted into an amazing home shortly after her arrival in Canada, where she has spent the past 3 years being surrounded by love and attention.

Bryn is a social and attentive dog. She seeks out attention and love, and will eagerly ask you for more pets if you stop too early for her liking. She will climb onto the sofa to rest her head on your lap, in order to spend quality time with you. When meeting new people, she is happy and loving. She has a quiet and curious personality - she will investigate new things in her environment with a sniff, and LOVES spending her time observing her surroundings. One of her favourite things to do is the relax on the couch and look out the window, watching the world go by. She is a smart girl, and thrives with mental stimulation and enrichment. She is used to using puzzle feeders and snuffle mats, or getting her meals during training sessions.

Bryn is very in tune with the emotions of the people around her. She knows when her family is upset or unwell, and this can cause her to feel off as well. When her people are happy, so is she! She will share your joy and your pain, she will be there to comfort you when you need, and to happy dance with you when times are good.

Outside, Bryn maintains her love for sniffing and investigating. She prefers a slow sniffy walk to high intensity activities - although she wouldn’t say no to a hiking adventure or some new types of outdoor fun. When she doesn’t cross any of her triggers, she walks well on leash and is atuned to her people. Bryn has a high prey drive, and will chase after cats, birds, squirells or small dogs. Her family will need to be aware of the environment when on walks with Bryn, and be proactive in their handing of these triggers. With other dogs, Bryn’s reaction is not always predictable. She has been wonderful with other dogs in the past, but in general she needs slow and proper introductions before being able to spend time with dogs now. She does better with male dogs than females, but has been babysat in a home with another female dog in the past. Due to her past experience with cars outside, Bryn also has some reactivity to cars passing by her.  She is an intelligent dog, and highly food motivated, and with consistent training Bryn has already proven that she is able to make great steps in reducing her reactivity, so long as her family is able to dedicate time to working on this.

The ideal home for Bryn would be one in a calm environment, with space for her to run around in the yard and a nice window for her to look out of. Her family will need to be attentive to Bryn and the environment when outside, and to put in some work to help Bryn be the best dog she can be.

WORDS FROM HER FAMILY:

Bryn is the most loving, intelligent dog anyone could ask for. She is almost half cat and half dog - gentle and contemplative indoors, never makes a mess, learns things quickly and just wants to be where you are. She absolutely loves humans and would do best in a household with multiple people to love, and to love her. Bryn has reactivity on leash outdoors due to past trauma but has made tremendous progress and needs a patient and experienced human family to help her overcome them once and for all. It has been my honour and privilege to be Bryn's big sister for three years and if it weren't for personal issues I would never ever let her go. I hope you and your family will welcome and love Bryn and let her fill your life with joy and light as she has done for me.
